My name is Sean Davis and I love the live show.
I've been photographing Memphis music since the early 2000's — bands, venues, festivals, whatever's happening. I shoot as a fan first. No flash, no pit, no credential required. That is my approach in general, of course when I am paid to photograph a festival I'm definitely a pit guy. The goal is to get something real without breaking the spell for the artists or the crowd.
Memphis has one of the most underrated live music scenes in the country and most of it goes completely unrecorded. This site exists to push back on that a little. Every post is a record of a night — the band, the room, the crowd, the details between songs.
I shoot primarily in Memphis but I'm not limited to it. If I was there with a camera, it's here.
