Goner Records presenting a show is always a good enough reason to show up and this one was no exception. A rainy night kept the crowd small at first but it grew as the night went on and by the end DKDC was exactly was exactly what you wanted it to be. Vinyl Williams came through from Los Angeles with Cloudland Canyon and Hott MT, a stacked lineup of dreamy psychedelic atmospheric sounds. First time seeing Vinyl Williams live and the whole bill delivered exactly the kind of hazy hypnotic vibe you want on a rainy summer night in Memphis. The real surprise of the night for me was HOTT MT. Didn't know much about them going in and they ended up being one of my favorite parts of the evening. Liked them enough that I bought their album on the spot. That's the beauty of these Goner shows, you come for one band and walk out a fan of another.

Spent the night working the room with a Miller High Life in hand which is about as good as it gets. DKDC is always a dream to photograph with all those fairy lights and that cozy atmosphere doing half the work for you. If you missed it, Cloudland Canyon has another show this week at the Green Room so you have got another chance to catch some of this magic. Enjoy!
