Green Room had a new layout for this one — they opened up more floor space for a bigger standing crowd and it was a great call. Somerville had her full band with her and the whole set had this dark, enveloping quality to it — shoegaze and hypnotic drone filling every corner of the room. The kind of show where you just get pulled in and lose track of time.
On the photo side this one was a real challenge. The show was intentionally very dark — which honestly suits the music perfectly. But as I always say limitations are the ultimate creative outlet and darkness is no different. It forces you to find new angles, new moments, new ways of seeing. At some point I just put the camera down and let the music wash over me. Not a bad problem to have. Happy with what I got. Enjoy!
