If you were to look at a chart of top 10 artists I have listened to since 2016 Father John Misty would be in there. In fact he is currently #8. So going into his set at Mempho Fest this year I knew what to expect musically. However I have never seen him live so what blew me away during this set is described by a few words. Swagger. Confidence. Charisma. Presence. It's rare I stay for a whole set but this was the case Friday night. After the first 3 in the pit I went into the crowd (usually better shots anyway) and sang along for the next 60 minutes and got to take it all in. One of my favorite live shows ever and for sure in the top 3 of this year's Mempho Fest.
